Faculty Friday - Carol Milne

Faculty Friday!

A friendly face you may recognise, meet our receptionist Carol Milne, who has been here at ISA for just over 2 years.

Carol always ensures everyone is greeted with a smile, and loves welcoming new families to ISA, taking the time to get to know them and their culture.

Get to know Carol a little more bellow…

How would you describe your role as ISA’s receptionist?

In my role as Receptionist, I welcome visitors and parents to ISA, answer telephone enquiries, security and other administrative tasks. Enquiries can be anything from a new admission or attendance, to a SAT enquiry or forgotten PE kit. Every day is different.

What is your favourite part of your role?

I especially like welcoming new families to ISA and learning where they have moved from and their culture.

As the ‘first face’ people see when entering the school, how do you make sure everyone feels welcome?

I love welcoming everyone who comes through the door with a big smile, and try to answer any queries they may have. If I can’t answer, I will do my best to find someone who can!

What is one piece of advice you would give to the students?

To always follow your dreams.

What is your best memory with ISA?

Just before I started working with ISA, I was invited to the International Parade event. It was fantastic seeing all the parents and students in their national dress. Very colourful and vibrant! We were also given the opportunity to taste the cuisine from different countries made by the families.

What do you enjoy most about working at an International School?

The sense of Community - everyone is friendly and welcoming! I also love the wonderful Campus - there is not a morning goes by where I don’t think myself lucky to work in such gorgeous surroundings.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to your younger self?

To be myself and not compare myself to others.

What’s one thing the students and faculty of ISA don’t know about you?

I trained in Highland, tap and modern dance, and now learn ballroom and Latin.
