ISA takes on Spain!

We recently had our first school trip abroad since the global pandemic, with 21 high school Spanish class students jetting off to the Southern region of Spain to experience true Spanish culture and put their Spanish language skills to the test.

Our students stayed with local families, letting them experience everyday culture of Spanish life.

While away on their travels, our high schoolers had a fun-filled schedule of educational activities and excursions to attend. Whilst visiting the gorgeous cities and towns of Malaga, Granada, Benalmádena, and Mijas, they took part in a traditional paella cooking class, a flamenco lesson, an orienteering treasure hunt, a visit to the Museo de Picasso and Alacazaba fortress, and even more historical sites!

After the trip, we asked our students to share their Spanish experience, and we are delighted that the overall response was fantastic… here are a few snippets of what our students said:

“The activities, food and freedom we were given was very good and enjoyable as it allowed me to fully experience Malaga and understand the culture better.”

“I feel like I've learned a lot more vocabulary and it gave me confidence in my Spanish skills as I could understand the conversations that were being spoken in Spanish.”

“The group was really the standout part.”

We value all forms of learning here at ISA, and giving our students the opportunity to experience what they learn at their desks in the real world is something very important to us, and special for our students.

We can’t wait for our next trip away with our brilliant students, but where to next?...
