Kindergarten garden gets a makeover

Our Kindergarten students have been learning about “Trees and Woodland Habitats” as well as “Materials and their Properties”. From an early age, ISA firmly approach learning by ‘doing’ and ‘experiencing’ so on this occasion, to practice ‘learning by doing’ our Kindergartners have been working alongside our High School Design Tech students to design and transform their very own garden.

Our senior students met virtually with the little ones to chat about what they would like to see in the garden. Everything from homes for birds, hedgehogs, squirrels, bees, rabbits (and a toucan!) to bird feeders and tables were discussed! Other suggestions included planters to grow flowers, new seating and a wig-wam.

Taking the children’s marvellous suggestions and drawings onboard, our Design Tech students are now busy designing, building and bringing these ideas to life so the Kindergartners can enjoy their new garden when they return to school.

We look forward to seeing the outdoor transformations – stay tuned for updates!
